Rikke Stands Up To Abusive Behaviour On High Horse (Be Gone)

High Horse (be gone) (Single)

Rikke

This pop-soul offering from Norwegian reality star Rikke harbours echoes of 90s style production flavours with its intimate sound and pop-funk arrangement. As for the song itself, it calls to mind Gabrielle’s canon of classics including the iconic ‘Dreams’ that still fill the airwaves to this day - but over this joyful & upbeat groove Rikke calls into question toxic behaviour that’s polluting her world and demands it ‘be gone, be gone’ from her personal space. She moves in good company though having shared a stage with global superstar John Legend at a Nobel Peace Prize concert no less, as well as being well connected in the Scandinavian music scene. While the vocals are subdued somewhat in the verses, it’s in the chorus that 'High Horse' comes to life when in full voice, Rikke delivers a world beating vocal hook that shoots right for the heart - undeniably seductive and a real grower that wins you over with each listen.
