A Gig To Remember... Sleeping With Sirens World Tour Provides Epic Experience

The ultimate showdown. The World Tour saw three of the most skilled vocalists come together to offer up an evening no one would forget anytime soon.

Issues were first to take The Forum’s stage on Saturday, 11th of April, playing to over 2000 at the sold-out venue. In a sense, the band offers a best of both worlds’ performance with R&B inspired choruses, over heavier riffs and verses. Both Tyler Carter’s vocal capabilities and Michael Bohn’s raw screams impress, while still working well together.

Although Issues got a great response from the crowd, they were just the appetizer. Next up were Sleeping with Sirens and their welcome was deafening. Even vocalist, Kellin Quinn eventually had to tell girls to calm down.

Starting the set with one of their new songs, “Kick Me”, the band looked and more importantly, sounded solid. Quinn’s mic could’ve maybe done with being turned up just a tad, but his voice still came through strong.

Sirens went on to play a few older songs like “Congratulations”, “Low” and “A Trophy Fathers Trophy Son”. It was interesting to note the crowd really responding to the older songs, especially roaring for “If I’m James Dean, You’re Audrey Hepburn”. That didn’t at all take away from the reception the tracks off ‘Madness’ received though. “Go Go Go” and “We Like it Loud” went down a treat, especially with the accompaniment of pyrotechnics and bursts of confetti.

Of course, it wasn’t just impressive staging that ensured a stunning performance. Kellin’s sense of ‘freestyling’, ensures a fresh twist on songs; always changing it up and even beat-boxing on “Roger Rabbit”. That and the comfort each member has in their instruments, makes for an amazing performance, with epic breakdowns.

Finally, Pierce the Veil took to the stage, playing “Hell Above” first. A lethally loud track that’s hard to deny. It’s easy to find yourself tapping your foot along to it, as with most of their songs. The sheer pace of the music, combined with their high voltage stage presence makes for a blissful experience.

Mike is an absolute machine on the drums and said to be one of the fastest in the world, which he proved by playing a solo while a pit opened in the crowd and onstage.

The band also played “Bulls in the Bronx”, “Hold on till May” and an acoustic version of “I’m Low on Gas and You Need a Jacket”. Playing “King for a Day”, with Kellin Quinn’s help, as an encore was the ultimate climax to a hell of a night with great music, showmanship and energy.
