Marsha Swanson's New Track "My Rules"

'My Rules" by Marsha Swanson has a nostalgic feel with a rock and progressive-pop vibe which strikes while the iron is hot! "Near Life Experience" is the album on which this track sits on. It was released on the 19th of January, 2024 and it continues to pack a punch!

The album features 17 tracks which is one of the reasons why it still sounds super fresh today. "My Rules" is just one of the many tracks on the album which stand out, but this one sounds just that little bit different when listening to the album in full. This one has a dark quality in the opening section, but that soon changes as the track progresses.

Towards the mid-part of this release, the mood changes completely. Moreover, we are introduced to a groovy and funky guitar riff which gets the body moving in a frenzy. It almost feels at this point where a liberation has occurred. Furthermore, it feels that Marsha has broken out of the mental prison she was in, no longer having to put up with the rules which had been forced upon her.

There is also a salient guitar solo which takes over the track in the latter stages of the track and it leaves me reaching out for the air guitar!
