Peasant's King Steal The Stage At Tours First Show

As the sun slowly set in the city of Cardiff on 7th April, the local Welsh residents enjoyed their second day of beautiful weather and outdoor activities. The Full Moon Club opened its doors and in poured the fans and friends of the bands that were ready to take the stage for the first show of the long-awaited ‘Young Kato tour’.

A snug venue to say the least but for what it lacked in space, it made up for in atmosphere. With cold drinks, good company and friendly staff, the club simply surged with a positive outlook of what was yet to come.

‘Peasant’s King’ who are no stranger to playing to a welsh crowd (or any for that matter), enter the tightly packed room and make a steady pace to take their place as their opening music hypnotised the audience. As the sounds faded away, the guitar dials were whacked up and any waver of nervous jitters amongst them was swiftly washed away and replaced with a brimming confidence, which illuminated their faces and focused their minds.

"Promised Land" and "Antidotes" being one of many songs played through the set, the small collection of spectators quickly formed a relationship and sense of involvement with the members as they lost themselves within their music. Each musician, bringing their own technical support to form a strong foundation, emphasised through their playing just how well they evidently work together.

A moment was taken to speak to two Peasant’s King enthusiasts Chris and Cathy from Caerphilly who have been following the group for roughly two years. Enjoying their night, they had nothing but compliments to share about the quintet, including that they are ‘Hard working and have a rich sound. Good musicians who deserve great success.’

Before the band took to the stage, I was able to grab an interview with Dan (Vocals) and Harry (Drums) discussing topics such as their recent announcement of being selected for the BBC radio Wales Horizons scheme as well as any pre-show jitters before their tour began.
