Marsha Swanson's "Homeward Bound"

Homeward Bound (Single)

Marsha Swanson

Marsha Swanson, a progressive pop signer and songwriter based in London, has returned, and on her new single "Homeward Bound," she expresses herself in a manner that is open and honest. This song is all about attempting to work out the dynamics that come along with relationships and it is about trying to find out the motivations of other people.

Marsha says that we are all not doing much more than going through the motions and clinging to what is going on around us. A sense of vulnerability permeates the message, almost as if we are reflecting on instances in the past in which things might not have been at their most optimal. The manner in which she sings the lyrics makes it easy to get a sense of the intensity that she possesses in this situation.

As we enter the first section of the track, we are greeted by a warm piano arrangement. Marsha then begins her vocal performance in rapid succession. A foot-tapping cadence is created by the drums as the track progresses, and there are even strings that emerge later in the track to give the tune newfound depth.
