Life On The Road Part 3 - On Tour With Living Dead Lights

The LDL tour covered much of Europe and after their stop-offs in France and Russia, it was time to head over the channel into good ol' Blighty, the Land of Hope & Glory, Britannia, or if you're an American rock band used to touring the US of A, the quaint little island across the pond. Until you get to Selby...
England
We played a few shows in England, a highlight being the 02 Academy Islington in London. One of the lighter periods of the tour was Worthing on Guy Fawkes Night near a carnival/festival where they burned the fake Guy Fawkes and were wearing Guy Fawkes costumes, shooting fireworks over the ocean. We're American so all the gun powder and treason stuff is new to us. That ended up being a rad show that night!
We then encountered the beat down scene in Selby. Somehow the original promoter was relieved of his booking duties and the new one had this genius idea to change the lineup, putting all beat down style bands on before us... We're a Rock N Roll band but I guess he didn't get the memo!
So before we played that night, a random beat down mosher ran across the club, started throwing down and hit our female tour manager in the head before punching me in the face... I didn't really like that very much so impulsively threw my Carlsberg bottle at the guy and a classic bar standoff ensued before the venue security finally had the common sense to get involved.
We played a show in Berlin after and I discovered the head stock of my 1960 Classic Les Paul was shattered from the flight courtesy of British Airways. I was having a run of bad luck.
