New Wave Duo Pol Self-Titled Debut EP

Dutch New Wave duo ‘Pol’ have released their brand-new, highly-anticipated self-titled debut EP. Made up of brothers Ruben and Matthijs, Pol’s 5-track brings New Wave to the forefront, with the two’s dynamic take on the genre.

The lead single off the EP ‘L’Amour Fait Mal’ epitomises this sound, as Pol craft a rich analogue soundscape of textured synth lines and driving drum beats, backdropping their characteristically wistful vocal performances.

Brilliantly expressive in their songwriting, the brothers drew inspiration from their own personal experiences and self-exploration while writing ‘Pol’. The songs examine personal challenges, such as toxic masculinity, relationships, and finding their place in the world. Alongside their prominent, alluring new wave sound, Pol interweave elements of post-punk and glam rock, creating compelling compositions unique to them.
