REVIEW album Weekend Recovery Esoteric

Weekend Recovery - Esoteric

Noise Rockers 'Weekend Recovery' have today dropped their full length album which is titled 'Esoteric'. After the trio had received high praise from many notable figures I delved into the new record to see what all the fuss is about

The Sheffield band start things off in an intense major, getting straight to point with what's important and setting the scene brilliantly. Lead singer Lori drives the infectious noise brigade in a relentless and demanding fashion with the fuzz infused guitars and galloping drums ripping in the background which is a running theme throughout.

‘Esoteric’ is , everything from the crunchy guitar riffs and rowdy vocals but with this new offering I see glimpses of new age production thrown in as well to create a sound that's transformed for 'Weekend Recovery'.

Highlights from the album include recent single 'NO GUTS, ALL THE GLORY' and disco beat infused 'In The Crowd' which is a highly addictive offering which is sure to get crowds roused up at future shows.

The album is the culmination of experimentation and sonic exploration, Weekend Recovery have been finding their feet with their guitar driven sound . They cut to the chase, delivering nothing but hooks and festival-ready breakdowns. ‘Esoteric’ is a breath of fresh air and I can't wait to see what the future holds for the band.

8/10
