Freddie Dickson Steals The Show At Shepherds Bush Empire

“Freddie Dickson”.... kind of has a good sound to the name, doesn’t it? After being dubbed the “Male Lana Del Ray” Freddie must be doing something right and I was lucky enough to witness the rightness that Freddie was doing ever so well.
Supporting Alex Clare at Shepherds Bush Empire earlier this week, Freddie Dickson was applauded onto stage with huge smiles and cheers. In the roar of applauds the man next to me joked “I’ve only come to see him, amazing just amazing”, I was definitely in for a treat then.
This stranger next to me couldn’t have been more right, within the first 20 seconds of Freddie’s performance I was blown away and I thought, how is he just a support act? Freddie Dickson is all about the voice and IS the voice, his powerful vocals echoed around the venue making it silent. With expressive gestures and lots of energy in his performance Freddie Dickson oozes passion, making it more heart warming to watch.
With a brilliant band behind him Dickson didn’t fail in sharing the stage with them and communicating his appreciation to be front and centre, his stage presence was illuminating making me besotted with his performance. Playing his brilliant and popular track “News” off the same titled EP which was released earlier this year, the song is a climatic belter that is just brilliant.
With hints of Sam Smith and Tom Odell, Freddie Dickson has the potential to be as dominating and successful in this male category.
Freddie’s EP “News” is a brilliant EP to get him out there and on the stage where he deserves to be, but seeing him live was mind blowing. Bringing the EP alive with his passionate and powerful voice, with good rhythm and exceptional talent, it’s no doubt that Freddie Dickson stole the show tonight.
