REVIEW album Josie Moon Mas Que Nada (Single)

I Can't Stop Listening To This Masterpiece

Mas Que Nada (Single)

Josie Moon

Starting off as a quiet love song to someone Josie fell for over the internet. The New Zealand singer-songwriter's glorious alt-pop single 'Más Que Nada' is a stunning representation of an artist destined for greater things. The song developed into the idea of loving someone beyond geographical, social, personal barriers, in a safe corner of a world of your making. The song is also paired with another song on the album “rain on me” which delves into some of the harsher realities of what happened next. I'm hoping to travel to New Zealand next year and if I manage to see Josie Moon perform live, the trip will be a huge success for me. A hypnotic, timeless music with an edgy pop vibe throughout, Josie Moon is creating innovative pop music with layers of sass and character.

Keeping momentum throughout the track, I find something else I love each time I listen to this. Bathed in an ethereal arrangement that comes across as jazzy and sweet, there’s also a subtle fragrance of melancholia in the mix. Prominently pop, this contender is perfect for the mainstream charts. Taken off a new body of work, the single draws elements from her previous work but you can truly hear the growth within this album. New Zealand has new royalty in the shape of this exceptional return. Now we have a new album to listen to that I've already listened to loads, I want another release, please Josie!
