Something About This Song Is Incredible... And It's All Of It.

An immersive artist that evolved into a DJ, producer and label boss after digging through her father's vinyl crates, I'm sure we can all relate to Leena Punks in someway or another. 'Something' is a gorgeous creation that really stood out to me the first time I heard it. It's progressive house sound completely left me in awe of an artist at the top of her game. Teaming up with singer Emilie Rachel, the track is an emotional number with melodic elements throughout. Best described as a breath of fresh air in the world of dance, I'm not usually a huge fan of dance music, but there's something about this song that keeps making me come back.

Inspired by Eric Prydz at the time, Leena wanted to create a world in which people can relate. An advocate for women's issues she regularly writes for different publications including the Times and the Evening Standard. In June 2019 going full circle she joined her icons on stage Chic and Nile Rodgers supporting key4life - an organisation that helps reduce young offending and gang warfare. In 2020, she created her own label 'Punks Trade' featuring emerging female electronic artists to combat the misrepresentation of women in electronic music.

"Something" always takes me on a journey of self discovery and always helps me feel more present and happy in myself. Without Leena Punks' music, I wouldn't know what I'd do. Thank you for the music, Leena - your innovation is incredible and inspiring.
