Jamal Lamont Hypnotizes With Debut EP 'Sirens'

Independent artist Jamal Lamont has released earlier this week his new EP Sirens. While this marks his debut, the Maryland-born singer-songwriter is far from being a beginner in the music industry: Dave Chappelle, Mali Music, Musiq Soulchild, Avery Wilson and Faith Evans are just a few of the big names he shared a stage with!

This expertise shows in his first project, washing over you like a 10-minute long siren’s song. Introducing the hedonistic EP, Sirens feels like an invitation to explore the pleasures of the flesh and give in to temptation. With spellbinding harmonies breezing through, it is the perfect song to dive into the alternative r&b sound of Jamal Lamont who revealed that the goal with Mental Kryptonite (who produced the 3 tracks), was to make music that remains “abstract and authentically [them]”.

Hypnotizing from start to finish, the lead single Want You Around shines with its melodies as sensual as waves kissing the shore, while the jazzier arrangement maintains an air of mystery.
