This Game We Started
noyou
Synthetic alt-rock outfit noyou constantly explore a genre-blending path where we see influences from the past but at the same time an exciting modern twist. The Sunderland based quartet, showcased two singles in the lead up to this stella EP with 'The Way You See Me' and 'Same Old Story'. Now they take a leap forward with their debut EP, 'This Game We Started'.
There’s a real alluring charm to 'This Game We Started' that I've not seen recently with other music. They somehow manage to compact the most emotive lyrics and soundscapes into a fun-loving record that leaves you holding onto every note of the lead singers vocal. It's unique and it's refreshing to see this rising band really take this sound as their own and fully define it.
Stand out tracks for me include lead single 'The Way You See Me' and EP track 'Love Is Enough' which is an authentic blend of 80's synthesizers, pulsing beats and catchy lyrics.
This band needs your attention, and I can't wait to see where this EP takes them.
A very solid debut EP. 9/10
