Anastave Releases New Experimental Track 'Medicine'

Anastave has returned with a new song - Medicine. I love a track that threads the line between genres and Medicine does exactly that, with a mix of influences such as dance, pop, electro and even a bit of rock.

Anastave is a Berlin-based artist who is making music that immediately makes you ask yourself the question - where do I place this? However, this is the beauty of the soundscape Anastave has created, and does not need an answer. This ability to thread between the lines is largely due to the creative ability of the musician, but also the artist’s natural pull towards the need to experiment. Drawing on a variety of styles, including electronic music, industrial, trip-hop, ambient music, and avant-garde, Anastave chooses to stay clear of the confines of genre.

As Anastave releases her sophomore album, the world will be given Medicine - her third release of the year and arguably the most exciting yet. Drawing comparisons to the likes of Massive Attack, The xx, Portishead, Björk or even Billie Eilish, Medicine is indicative of what’s to come in the artist’s ever-changing repertoire.

Anastave continues to push the boundaries of music into a form which she terms “lyrical electronic music”, leaving the door open to interpretation.
