Communion 'New Faces' Tour Continues The Faith

Walking in Shepherds Bush on a cold winter’s night, I look up at the church next to me and through the stained glass windows there's a flicker of colours from purple to blue to white. Along the side of the church is a queue of excited young girls and guys with cameras. Tonight West London is hosting Communion’s ‘New Faces’ tour which consists of four talented upcoming artists.
Formed in 2006 Communion started out as a community of musicians but is now an independent Record label with platforms such as promotion and publishing. This community of musicians have created a great opportunity for new and talented artists to get on the road and do what they love - perform live. This exciting opportunity is called ‘New Faces’ and it’s a tour that consists of a range of diverse artists. I'm lucky enough to catch the second tour in London where the artists are Pixel Fix, Kimberly Anne, Fyfe and Amber Run.
With the audience sat in the pews and lights beaming high up to the arch of the church, the stage is set and ready for the first act. Pixel Fix are an indie electronic band from Oxford. With lots of energy, the guys do a great job of opening the show and make sure they are not forgotten as they perform a powerful instrumental leaving with a strong finish. A similar artist with the execution skills of electronic music is Fyfe, though accompanied by a drummer/synth player Fyfe is a solo musician who captures the emotions with his high vocals that correlate so well with the bass and electronic sound.
With a long night ahead for the artists who are covering 7 cities in just over a week, it's an impressive undertaking for the bands who are just starting out. The leading lady of the tour Kimberly Anne has the right stage presence and attitude to make it in this industry, with her fun personality showing through her soulful voice, the confidence makes the audience feel comfortable.
With her cover of Robin’s ‘Show Me Love’ the audience sat in the pews stand up and turn this gig into a fun evening. With the community of attendees and artists together in this beautiful church the environment is relaxed with people mingling and dancing to the music that is being showcased.
The final act is Amber Run who definitely turned this church into a rocking place of worship, with the audience moving right to the feet of the band, people standing on pews and dancing in the aisles Amber Run are sure to get a crowd going. With demands of an encore the band ignited the church with their passion for music and the help of the exceptional talents being Fyfe, Kimberly Anne and Pixel Fix.
The Communion ‘New Faces’ tour ends in Leeds in just a few days and it shows these upcoming artists are spreading the word of good new music quickly and successfully.
