London-based band Arliston (consisting of Jack Ratcliffe, George Hasbury and Jordi Bosch) have been on the rise since first arriving on the scene in 2018, and they’ve been getting bigger with each release – last year’s “Mountaineer” became their most popular track and is approaching 900,000 streams on Spotify. They have also garnered acclaim from plenty of notable outlets. Looking to build on their momentum, they have just unveiled their brand-new single, “Mothering”, which is nothing short of a masterpiece.
It’s the silky-soft vocals and rich harmonies that draw you in initially, and they’re complemented perfectly by the track’s subtle production that pulls you in even further. Before you know it, you’re gripped and fully immersed. And the more you listen, the more it grows and new elements are noticed, such as the way the guitar and piano merge together to create such a blissful soundscape.
Hopefully “Mothering” is just the start and there is even more to come from Arliston, as they have announced a new EP, Even In the Shade, which is set for release later this year. Their previous EP, The Ground Might Disappear, was only released earlier this year, and it’s clear the band are ready to outdo themselves based on “Mothering”, which is the first release from the upcoming project. It’s an exciting prospect to think of a full EP that sonically follows in the same vein as “Mothering”, so here’s hoping it arrives soon.
