KEYS Album Delivers Musical Inspiration, Passion And Experimentation

KEYS

KEYS

A force majeure of keyboard-driven prog meets melodic rock; this is the brainchild of Mark Mangold (Touch, Drive She Said) and has the hallmarks of both his keyboard prowess and epic song writing talents.

Sweeping synth solos meet ambient echos as three keyboardists and banks of keyboards drive a unique musical narrative. This is a guitar-free zone – as the name suggests, but the music doesn't suffer for it; it showcases the versatility of keyboards in 2022. These keyboards scathe - providing a barrage of sound and exploring blistering guitar solos by the inspired use of the keyboards and creating a sound that would put many guitarists to shame by using plug in's that perfectly emulate guitars.

The addition of an award-winning vocalist with a 4-octave vocal range, Jake E, takes KEYS to new heights, as the band tackle the more complex & unusual tracks like the first single 'RIP' and 'Feast of Saints' to impossibly catchy AOR gold, like 'Goodtimes'. Mark Mangold did pen the Cher classic 'I Found Someone', so he is no stranger to creating classic pop-rock earworms.

To be fair, name-check genres in connection with this album does it a disservice –the sound created here is genre-busting. KEYS is a spirited musical journey of inspiration, passion and experimentation by musicians that are masters of their craft. If you are looking for something genuinely interesting to listen to, I recommend treating your ears to the debut album from KEYS.
