Theresa
Well, where do I even start with Theresa? She's been on one hell of a journey! Originating from Long Island, she started writing songs at the age of 11 because she loved music and idolised Madonna. However, she experienced some difficult life experiences, and abandoned her dreams of being a recording artist.
She spent years working behind the scenes in the music industry, including jobs at Jive Records, and another role with Sheryl Crow's management company. Fast-forward to today; Theresa is a 42-year-old advertising music executive by day. But by night; she's an energetic popstar and performer. Yep, she's finally pursuing her lifelong dream of pop stardom!
And she's really letting the music scene know that she's a force to be reckoned with in the music scene. In 2019, Theresa released her first single, followed by another 10 singles throughout the pandemic. That's right, not even a global pandemic can stop Theresa now.
She has recently released a song called "Under The Influence" on which she collaborated with the fantastic Colby O'Donis, who's worked with Lady Gaga and Kelly Rowland in the past. This is a dream collab for Theresa, as Gaga clearly inspires her sound to some degree. Her brand-new single is definitely Gaga-esque. It's an infectious dance-pop tune that came out on the 1st of July 2022, and it only further proves that Theresa is a dynamic, exciting artist who's finally fulfilling what she was meant to do.
This new song is an upbeat dance song, driven by positive lyrics of hope and optimism. In the verses, she vulnerably expresses feeling defeated and unhappy, which many listeners will certainly relate to. But when the chorus drops, that's where the song reaches its euphoric climax, as Theresa sings about letting go of worries and living life happily and freely "so much magic in the air, you can feel it everywhere, living life without a care". She has written this song so impressively, as her lyrics perfectly portray the feeling of moving on from tough times and becoming happier.
