Indie-folk Artist Ian Janco Releases New Six-Track Rapture EP

Rapture

Ian Janco

Ian Janco is an interesting artist who grew up on a ranch in rural Idaho, before cutting his teeth at the world famous Paul McCartney's Liverpool Institute for Performing Arts and finally landing in the grand city of London. He's hit the UK venue circuit hard and released several tracks that have performed well on Spotify.

However, his new Rapture EP could be the turning point for Ian. Composed of six songs that share many of the same sonic elements, such as acoustic guitar, gentle percussion, folky refrains and catchy choruses, it's clearly a strong piece of work that makes sense as an EP.

The production quality is also noteworthy as it makes these singer-songwriter ballads much more interesting to listen to than you first might expect. At points the EP is a little predictable, like the more commercial track 'Something New', but then he surprises with songs that incorporate alternative sounds, in particular 'Rapture'. Overall it's a solid EP that'll start Ian Janco moving in a very promising direction.
