KVNE Surprises With Pop-Punk Collaboration 'Heroin' Featuring Badlook

Heroin (Single)

KVNE feat. Badlook

The last time I heard of KVNE, it was through a dance pop anthem, while I discovered him with a rap track. The Canadian artist is surely full of surprises as he’s now back... with a pop punk song. Entitled Heroin, it’s a collaboration with fellow countryman Badlook and when you dive deep into KVNE’s history with music, this new genre actually makes a lot of sense as it turns out he started out in a metal band as a teenager. And guess what? Badlook did too.

These two met up in a tiny Canadian town during a show where both their respective bands were performing, before crossing paths again 10 years later. When the pandemic kicked in, they decided to embark on a new journey together: indeed Heroin is just the start as a full collaborative EP called Distort should follow!

Through the years and the genres, one thing remains constant in KVNE’s music and that is his energetic performance, often combined with subtle yet important underlying themes that are close to his heart. Heroin is no exception: while on the surface, it gives the impression to talk about a toxic relationship, it is actually a dialogue between an addict and their vice, echoing KVNE’s ongoing battle.

I therefore can’t help but celebrate this unexpected duo and eagerly await to hear more from their joint project!
