VVEST Experiments With New Instruments On Bad Move Baby

Bad Move Baby (Single)
VVEST
After an unbelievably prolific 2021 that involved three full-length albums being released, East Coast artists and producer VVEST (pronounced west) has released his first single of 2022. It’s a sunny-sounding tune called Bad Move Baby that starts with the inherently summery sound of a tambourine. Then soon, in comes the vocals as VVEST starts rapping and throwing in some ad libs, and higher pitched vocal harmonies pop up in the background. The intro builds anticipation and excitement in a very effective way by gradually adding more and more sounds into the mix. At the 15 seconds point after the line “you better pay me with interest”, we hear the first bit of groovy, Spanish-style saxophone.
Even at this early point in the song, it’s hard to resist getting your summer outfit out and heading outside to relax in the sun. This brass instrumentation becomes a major part of the song’s ability to stick in your head and have you singing it for hours.
After a brilliant start to the tune, the chorus does not disappoint, with the title of the track being the main lyrical focal point, sang in a memorable way that I can imagine going down a treat at a music festival on a sunny beach.
VVEST deserves a lot of credit as an artist, having written, produced, and engineered this tune on his own. He also released it on his own record label; this is a perfect example of an independent artist if there ever was one!
Go and give this great new tune a listen and get in the mood for summer parties.
