US Pop Hip Hop Trio .Wavrunner New Single ‘Professional’

.wavrunner, an irreverent US pop trio that clearly keep a stock of choice four-letter words in their lyric bank at all times, have released their new single “Professional” through Elevation Recording Group. This single comes after the release of numerous others, including 'Joyride', 'Magik' and 'uh huh, i like it' which, as of writing, has over 300,000 streams on Spotify and 100,000 views on YouTube.

'Professional' feels like everything we have come to expect from .wavrunner – fun, summery, profane, and ultimately, doesn’t take itself too seriously. The lyrics are straight to the point, and there’s something quite charming about just how filthy some of the descriptions are for what is, on its face, a complimentary song about a lover. It’s as if a frat boy wrote a song about falling in love with a stripper and used Urban Dictionary as a thesaurus – misguided, but well intentioned, and certainly made me chuckle.

With this release, .wavrunner have somehow perfectly captured what I imagine would be the brainchild of Sean Kingston, LMFAO and Afroman – equal parts tropical pop, summer fun and partying a little too hard for your own good. 'Professional' is like the musical equivalent of a Sex on the Beach cocktail – summery sweet, wouldn’t ask for it around my parents, and find myself going back for more. If that sounds like your kind of order, then I would definitely recommend a listen.
