Project CONCUBINE - F*** Daddy

Enigmatic London-based artists Project CONCUBINE appear to be constructing a musical-cultural jigsaw of intention. New single Fuck Daddy provides another significant piece in that emerging picture. Singer/Guitarist Jera Diarc has a semi-spoken vocal delivery that sits somewhere between early Nick Cave and Mark E Smith’s imaginary European cousin. Hanja Martes provides a tightly bolted electronic groove and deep wobbly synth drone like a much darker incarnation of Django Django in a mash-up with Front Line Assembly while The Synthetic Dream Foundation keep watch.

Project CONCUBINE call their style ‘the new posh’ which, in itself, is another example of their satirical approach. They are giving little away about themselves and succeeding in making me want to know more as a result. In the meantime we have the disarming but energetic Fuck Daddy to add to 2020’s I’m Addictive (note the adjective there, addictive not addiction-prone, there is a major difference!). With gigs back on the agenda, this single will strengthen your desire to see them live.
