NEW ARTIST OF THE DAY: TRWBADOR

Old Subbacultcha

Old Subbacultcha

A West-Walian avant-pop duo who have been mixing it up since meeting in Newport, Wales in 2010.

SUBBA-CULTCHA.COM SAYS: "Here’s something you don’t hear every day; a half-Welsh, half-Dutch avant-garde electro-pop duo from the town of Llandeilo, Carmarthenshire. Owain Gwilym and Angharad Van Rijswijk have been performing as
TRWBADOR since 2010 and have never shied away from a little experimentation here and there. They have been pricking up the ears of many a music reviewer and DJ since their inception and have received kind words aplenty from the likes of Welsh disc jockeys Huw Stephens and Adam Walton and  fantastic four-star reviews almost across the board for their 2012 self-titled debut. Their best known work to date, thanks to an appearance as part of the Visit Wales advertising campaign, would be 'Red Handkerchiefs', a song which is as complexly sweet as it is sweetly complex. Their new single, featuring ESSA (aka hip-hop progressive Yungun) 'Breakthrough' is released on the 26th May. Sample the duo's latest track at the bottom of this article and keep your eyes peeled for our forthcoming interview with them."
