Life On The Road The Finale - On Tour With Living Dead Lights
Published
After naked ladies in Paris, "interesting" accomodation in Russia and bar brawls in England, surely LDL had ticked off many of the checklist for being on tour? But hang on, there was still Latvia, Estonia and Norway to go yet. What could possibly go wrong?!
Latvia/Estonia
Liepaja, Latvia deserves a mention, we played 3 shows there, one of which was in a hotel/strip club/rock club that looked like the hedonistic Pleasure Island from the movie Pinocchio. Stray cats wandering around the halls of the hotels, the Ghostbusters car parked out front! Exactly what we expected to see in Latvia!
Estonia was more or less a good time, I got to hangout with some old friends there and did some site seeing and had a few days off. The last night we were there, right after our gig, we went to this bar by our hotel and all the locals kept going into the kitchen to snort amphetamines.Nick and I went back to the hotel and I saw this dude in the lobby wearing an office shirt but he didn't have any pants on, dude was fucked up and taking a shit in the chair. So the next morning we go to check out and the hotel staff was talking about the events that took place "upstairs" so I guess the guy took a shit on the couch upstairs too!
Oslo, Norway
Tattooing a fan in Oslo
We played in Oslo for our friends in the Hells Angels and honestly it was probably the highlight of the tour, trust us to have to perform for an outlaw biker gang to finally be properly taken care of! The PA system didn't work so we played the whole show without vocals and Brandon just screamed at the crowd with no mic! But we still had a killer time with them!
Hanging out with the Hells Angels
Outside of all the craziness on this tour, the fans were great of course, we had the opportunity to meet alot of awesome people. It showed us that there's is definitely a strong rock n roll scene out there in Europe and it was quite a cultural experience as usual! I mean it's a big difference in the way people live life from US to Europe. I mean, what's up with these Turkish Kebab places?! They are in just about every country we went to and they about the only places that are open late. We didn't know it was such a big deal. Anyway, signing off... Living Dead Lights.
