Bakers Eddy
Summer is finally here and brought along the over-active punk rock vibes of fast rising Kiwi but Melbourne-based band, Bakers Eddy. Meet CJ, Ian, Jamie and Alex in their brand new music video for their soon-to-be hit song ‘Good Decisions’, where we get to see the boys in their natural state: childishly enjoying life by rocking and messing their place up.
With deconstructed rhythmic lines, a juvenile entertaining energy, Bakers Eddy is the new Green Day we’ve all been waiting for. How we have missed this 2000’s rock’n’roll “couldn’t-give-a-damn” attitude on the musical scene! In the words of the band themselves, ‘Good Decisions’ is “ironically, a song about making terrible life choices resulting in an empty bank account and a bad hangover”. The hard guitar strumming and dynamic loud drumming throughout the song perfectly fits the aggressive yet fun screaming lyrics (“I’m Making Good Decisions For My-SELF”) strongly reminding of timeless head-banging Hives’ tune "Tick Tick Boom". Another envious characteristic about this video is the feeling of authenticity in the youthful fun they’re having: no real stage play nor hired actors, the band members are all there playing their own role… which only makes us want to party with them live!
Bakers Eddy are the rebel kids we all wish we had been at their age: a delirious group of friends, wildly enjoying music while touring around the world together. This blooming innocence can be particularly conspicuous through their brand new dancing EP “I’m Not Making Good Decisions” – which we hope they’ll keep making for a long time, as this breath of freedom they’re giving us is all we need right now.
