JackCity Releases New Single 'Don't Stress Yrslf'

Don't Stress Yrslf (Single)

JackCity

One of the best things about rap is the unexpected and JackCity have not failed us when it comes to that. JackCity takes a much freer side to rap, which could be down to his age. However, in doing so he has not forgotten the importance of music and the impact that the words we choose have on others. Rap has always surprised people with how political and intelligently written it can be, just look at Kendrick Lamar, and this can be seen through JackCity's work.

Although for such a young artist his confidence is something that strikes you, especially in tracks like 'Don't Stress Yrslf', the way in which he delivers his message makes it almost impossible for anyone to ignore. He says it how it is, he doesn't blur any lines, he doesn't make any excuses, he is just honest and truthful and it is refreshing to hear, whilst also inspiring for such a young person to already have integrity and knowledge about what is happening in the world, and what better way to pass on this message than through music. The combination of the hard beats and rhetorical questions reminds you of Public Enemy and others that made this genre what it is today. JackCity could be the next to pass on the baton to other aspiring artists.

The lyrics speak for themselves, however his delivery of the track demands the attention of the listener, even if this isn't what you'd normally find on your playlist, everyone should give this a go, if anything just for the message, however many will be surprised as to the power that this genre has over you. Many tend to link hip-hop with anger or rebellion, however what JackCity promotes is intelligence and knowledge of the genre and about topical debates today, but most importantly providing a healthy environment for it.
