French Singer NED Ready To Conquer The United Kingdom

Give Me More (Single)

NED

NED is a rather atypical artist. With joyous tunes, a beaming presence on stage and online, it is hard to tell that her musical journey was actually filled with difficult challenges to overtake.

As a matter of fact, her new single ‘Give Me More’ is probably the danciest, catchiest and happiest track you have ever heard. No sketchy, unusual, ‘suspensy’ introduction – NED’s message is clear: good vibes only. From the first second, a pop melody played on an electric guitar along with jumpy fast beats are blasting through the speakers. A few seconds later, NED comes in and choose to open the first verse with French lyrics, adding a mysterious layer to the song. A story seems to be told here, and slows down the tune in a good way, giving a more serious aspect to the project. However, while the verses are in French, the choruses are sung in English. A common trend we can find in now internationally known French artists like Christine And The Queens in ‘Saint-Claude’ or Julien Doré’s ‘Paris-Seychelles’ for instance –a risky but interesting technique to target a wider audience that definitely has its charm.

If there is one feature to admire in ‘Give Me More’ and just about NED in general, it is her authenticity. You can feel she is making music she enjoys, and not necessarily to please a particular audience. After four years of remission, it is insane how her joie de vivre can almost be tangible with all the love and positive messages she is transmitting through her music. And this is surely what will win the world’s heart.
