Beaty Heart Don't Disappoint In West London
Published
After discovering Beaty Heart on the BBC Introducing Stage at Glastonbury I was left in high spirits and eager to see them live again. So when I heard the news of Beaty Heart supporting Kishi Bashi at Shepherds Bush Hall it was inevitable I would be there.
With their psychedelic, obscure and fun sound Beaty Heart grabbed everyone’s attention creating a ripple of wave like movements; Bodies swaying from side to side and heads bopping in time. Beaty Heart showed their incredible talent on stage with members swapping positions from the percussionist to drummer and an extremely energetic performance that was infectious.
Not only was it fun to see maracas being used but the whole performance was fun, Beaty heart have an exceptional talent of creating music like no other and making it addictive to the ears.
Though the band were just a supporting role for this particular night, they are a band that would be amazing as a headline and I would pay good money to see them be the main act. Thirty minutes just isn’t long enough for me. With their album “Mixed Blessings” featuring lots of intricate and experimental sounds it’s interesting to see the tracks live and how the band create suchdifferent music. Lead singer Josh Mitchell’s flawless talent of ranging his vocals from high to low correlates so perfectly and interestingly against the bouncy, dream like sound.
Leaving the energy they created in the air, and hums of “Seafood”, bodies still swaying and smiles on faces. Beaty Heart exited the stage leaving only a positive and exciting atmosphere with hope that they’ll be back in London again and very soon.
