Roaring, Bold, Hard-Rock Debut From Wolf Cellar

Prey Like Us (EP)
Wolf Cellar
Who the hell are Wolf Cellar? And are you sure you don't mean Wolf Alice or Wolfmother?
The name of garage rock trio, Wolf Cellar, is the only thing they have in common with the other successful wolf-packs currently touring the music circuit.
Fans of Black Peaks, Frank Carter & The Rattlesnakes and Marmozets will want to check out this latest rock trio, who deliver all the screams, melodies and towering guitar riffs you'd expect from the genre.
Wolf Cellar's debut EP, 'Prey Like Us', is their bold entry into the music scene; and they don't disappoint.
The 5 track EP kicks off with lead single, "Noughts & Crosses", and sets the tone of the record with punchy guitar riffs, and singer Rachel Atkins soaring from song to screams to catchy chorus melody. Similar to Royal Blood, the guitarist plugs through both bass and guitar amp, leaving the listener with muddy bass driven riffs, BIG in sound.
The EP continues with forceful intent, with "For The Taking", before slowing down for reflection, to show off Atkins' vocal prowess in slow rock ballad "Coming of Age".
Track 4, "Hit The Ground" is a stand out favourite for me, where the EP picks back up the pace, and delivers the build up or all build ups, before leaving you chanting along 'I hope you die, I hope you cry' in a much more angrier mood than you were before.
With a smatter of better production, you can imagine something HUGE from Wolf Cellar.
I was lucky enough to stumble across this new unsigned band at a Black Peaks gig, where I met the band, who were drinking beer and handing out leaflets for their next show. They won me over, and I walked away with their upcoming release, with a promise it would impress me. Thankfully they did't disappoint.
Not lacking in passion on record, and in person, I think these guys might just be worth checking out live. Watch this space for a live review!
It seems the music industry is dominated by wolves... nothing new I guess, but the more GOOD ones the better I say!
