Something New

Atoms (single)

Memory Flowers

When I heard about a band making music, my mind shifted to either Indie Pop or Alternative Rock. But this single is much more than Alternative Rock or placed into the Indie genre.

When you first listen to Atoms, you're hit with a lovely loop of sounds, creating the rhythm with drums submerged in the background. A soft piano rolls in to complete the melodic introduction, leaving you with a feeling of practically floating.

What really caught my attention, though, was the stark vocals, really solidifying the rest of the experience. The listener can hear an accent, and can tell the singer means to deliver comfort, especially during the chorus. "Beyond the spiral stairs," the lead rings out, "You get to glimpse a bit of it." You can tell the song is one of hope and determination.

The guitars in the second verse of the song are subtle, the trumpets are there as well; yet it all comes together in production, several layers of simply homegrown musicianship. The guitar solo is passionate, and illustrates the joyous part of a movie.

I've listened to this song maybe 3 or more times now. It's beautiful, it's something new, something I'd be willing to hear more of. Props to the production team, writer, musicians, and vocalist. Thank you for sharing it. Hope to hear more soon, I think the world needs it.
