Marsha Swanson Is Back

Marsha Swanson is kicking off 2025 with a special release—her new single which is called "Like An Angel". The track marks the one-year anniversary of her critically acclaimed album "Near Life Experience" and offers a fresh take on a song that originally appeared as an untitled ghost track on the record.

The singer has always been known for her poetic lyricism and progressive-pop sound, and this track follows suit. Moreover, this reimagined version brings in a full live band and string section and it adds to the warmth and depth of an already moving piece which was found as a ghost track on the album. The single is also accompanied by a beautifully put together music video, her fifth collaboration with award-winning Iranian animator Sam Chegini and his distinctive visual style perfectly complements her music from the start.

Recorded at Echo Zoo Studios in Eastbourne, the song was brought to life with the help of producer Henry Thomas—who has worked with legends like Randy Crawford and Paul Weller—alongside drummer Martyn Barker, guitarist Tony Qunta, and keyboardist Anders Olinder. The result is a lush and atmospheric sound, one that blends elements of the original recording with new instrumentation, giving it a timeless feel for all to enjoy.

For fans of Kate Bush and Tori Amos, Like An Angel offers that same ethereal beauty and introspective depth. Swanson describes it as one of her most personal songs, written as an ode to those who are no longer with us but whose influence and wisdom still shape our lives.
