The Tribe with a sense of danger
Published
Back in the 80's Adam and his Ants hit our screens and when I saw them on T.O.T.P. I actually thought "these guys all live together, like a tribe!" However the stark reality was that it was very clever marketing... a great promo guise that worked wonders. Well for one album at least.
My point to this is that tonight's headliners at the Live Room are a band that I have had the pleasure of watching several times over the last 12 months.
They are a tribe... The Winachi Tribe. And I swear they do all live together somewhere. Their devotion to each other and the music they produce is something quite special. So before you read on I urge you to listen to the pre-gig interview below.
So... the gig. If I was to tell you it was great, I'd be lying. It was awesome. The band has certainly become a tight knit unit since I first saw them at the Scala twelve months ago. Liam’s vocals are totally confident, not that they never were. No nerves and loving every minute. Right from the opening number 'Sex, Drugs and Poetry' the audience know it’s going to be a dance-a-thon of a night.
This is swiftly followed by 'Everybody, Everyone', ‘I Sense Danger' and my personal favourite 'Time for Love'. By this time everyone in the room is dancing along. It’s a great vibe, and one that they take everywhere they go. They finish with another brilliant tune 'Yeah Fool'.
To be honest I've never seen them play a bad gig, always consistently good. Maybe 2016 will be the year of the Tribe. No room for monkey business here.
The Winachi Tribe are Liam-Vocals, Sam-Drums, Richie-Bass, Inder-Percussion, Anthony- Keyboards and Jamie- Guitar. Catch them on tour soon
