Hidden Charms - Love You Cause You're There

Love You Cause You're There

Hidden Charms

Why fix it if it ain’t broken? Hidden Charms first caught our attention with their first single ‘Dreaming of Another Girl’ and received admiration from the BBC, NME, and beyond. Their signature bluesy style harks back to a rock ’n’ roll heyday.

Many would say that rock doesn’t evolve, but Hidden Charms prove that you can pay homage to your hero whilst creating something fresh. ‘Love You Cause You’re There’ might be a change of tempo for the band, but it’s full of heart and raw energy.

Hidden Charms have moved away from their traditional psychedelic style and waded into deeper waters, discordant guitar twangs tie together the visceral vocals that rip through the title track. They've undone the stitches of a broken heart to bare all, and we're pretty glad they did. Rock ’n’ roll is in safe hands.

The B-Side, Scarab Beetle Shuffle, plunges us further into the darkness . The snaking, snarling bass riff kicks things off with a sinister edge, reminiscent of The Wytches and Jacco Gardner. The track then breaks down into a driving beat, if the 405 highway led you down a rabbit hole, this would be the track playing on the other side.

Fresh from a sell-out series of shows across the UK with Yak, Hidden Charms are paying their dues on the road and fast becoming known for their energetic and hypnotic performances. Expect big things.

‘Love You Cause You’re There’ is out now on iTunes, you can also listen to it on Soundcloud. Keep an eye out for their live dates over at facebook.com/hiddencharms.
