Charlie Hole shimmers in intimate sessions

Charlie Hole has been described by Rod Stewart as a "new emerging musical talent" who had written a “beautiful song” and intimated he was destined for great things... but does Charlie live up to the expectations put upon him by Rod Stewart?

The Sawmill Cafe is based in Shoreditch and a venue known for intimate sessions. In an intimate setting where Charlie is playing his guitar with three other people in the venue, it could be quite a struggle for some artists but not Charlie...

He performed the title track of his EP "Dirty Little Secret", a story loosely based on the phone hacking situation and the media in general. His beautiful voice sang over the track in the acoustic setting effortlessly and beautifully, and even though we were dealing with a dark subject matter.

He also performed the "The Chapel of Unrest", a slightly sombre track... and with the candle setting, it was a rather heartbreaking performance. A reminder of how beautiful a man and his guitar can be (and that voice too).

The EP is out now and worth a listen as I'm sure this won't be the last we hear of Charlie Hole.
