Janet Devlin rocks St Pancras Old Church

On a cold wintery night... Janet Devlin opened the doors of St Pancras Old Church and invited us all in.

Her set remained minimal and vocal reliant on opener "Things We Lost in the Fire", a piano ballad focusing on her vocal abilities before leading into half Irish, half English "Whiskey Lullabies / Suantrai Meisciuil".

As you'll remember from my interview (http://www.subba-cultcha.com/reviews/1228), Devlin mentioned how the new album may be titled "Holy Water" and she joked how it was funny to be playing new music in a church before debuting new tracks "Place Called Home" and "I Lied To You".

The set was a lengthy number and even included some Christmas tracks, due for release on her Xmas EP "December Daze". The tracks "December Daze" and "Happy Holidays" brought some unexpected crowd participation including Santa hats and signs.

The show was a low key number with dim lights and great church acoustics. A perfect setting for a show and a perfect show.
