Jess Glynne Proves She's A Chart Topping Performer

What can we expect from an artist who in just over one year has already achieved 5 number ones, other than a number one performance?

Jess Glynne, born and raised in South London, has dominated the charts over the past year. After featuring on a Route 94 track, My Love, Jess Glynne was quickly spotted by Electronic group Clean Bandit, who she was soon to start recording with. 'Rather Be' was the song in which Clean Bandit and Jess Glynne recorded together. In only a matter of time, the song debut at number one and became the third fastest selling single of 2014.

Now Jess has become a household name, she embarks on her music career alone, releasing her own music.

Jess entered the stage on Sunday night in Birmingham to a crowd of screaming, excited fans. After releasing her debut album 'I Cry When I Laugh' in August, the audience were most certainly excited to finally hear her perform the songs live.

Her setlist featured all but one song from the album, including hits such as 'Hold My Hand' and 'Don't Be So Hard On Yourself'. Jess also added 'Real Love' and 'Rather Be' to the mix in which she featured on the track with Clean Bandit. Both of these songs she performed to open with, therefore the crowd were powered up from an early stage.

Jess entered the stage wearing her signature colour, black. The simplicity of her outfit allowed the audience to focus more on the outstanding power in her voice rather than her appearance.

The emotion in Jess' face showed the audience just how much these songs meant to her and how dedicated she was to her career in music. Throughout the show, we learnt more about Jess Glynne as a person. Her rough times in life have enabled her to write music which is so real that others can often relate to it. Jess talked often on stage about that one person who was always there for her through the hard times and dedicated songs to them.

Jess' performance was very energetic throughout. When performing 'Don't be so hard on yourself', she jumped off the stage and ran past the front row, giving the mic to fans to sing lines from her song.

Towards the end of the gig, Jess proudly announced that her new single 'Take Me Home' is to be the new Children In Need single.

Jess will be coming back to Birmingham in February 2016 on her follow up tour.
