Some Dreams

A Flock Of Seagulls

Some Dreams is a highly anticipated album by music legends A Flock of Seagulls. This will be the group's first album of new material since 1995. Led by the talented Mike Score, the band continues to innovate and inspire, consolidating their status as icons of the industry.

The album features ten brand new songs that seamlessly blend the band's signature synth sounds with driving guitars and high energy rhythms. It is a testament to Mike Score's songwriting abilities, showcasing his talent for crafting hooky and thought-provoking pop music. The lead single, also titled "Some Dreams", was released earlier in the autumn to much fanfare and critical acclaim. Its success served as a promising preview of the album's overall quality.

Following this, the band plans to release their next single "Him", which is believed to be one of Mike Score's finest pieces of writing. Some Dreams is a diverse and dynamic album, featuring everything from big room synth anthems to moody and contemplative tracks. Songs such as "Fool", "Time", and "Castles in the Sky" showcase the band's versatility and ability to deliver a range of emotions through their music. Aside from their musical talents, A Flock of Seagulls is known for their iconic haircuts, which became synonymous with the new wave era of the 80s. The band, consisting of Mike Score, his brother Ali on drums, fellow hairdresser Frank Maudsley on bass, and guitarist Paul Reynolds, rose to fame with their debut album in 1982. Their breakout single "I Ran (So Far Away)" not only climbed into the top ten of the American charts but also spawned a popular music video that featured Mike Score's distinct and gravity-defying hair. Their success continued with the release of "Wishing (If I Had a Photograph of You)" which reached number ten in the UK charts.

A Flock of Seagulls has become a staple in popular culture, with their music and references appearing in TV shows such as Friends, The Wedding Singer, and La La Land. This new album is a testament to their enduring legacy and their ability to captivate audiences with their unique sound. The album was produced by Mike Score, Mikal Read, and Sare Havlicek, and features guest appearances from musicians such as Kiku Collins (trumpet), Alex Toff (drums), and Ben Le Court (drums). It was recorded at various studios around the world, including Loop Studio Liverpool, Loop Studio Floria, Toykorama Studio Slovenia, and XXXX Studio Los Angeles.

The album was engineered by Mikal Reid and Sare Havlicek, with the latter also handling the mixing at Tokyorama Studio. The final mastering was done by Eugene Rasini at Cromon. The executive producer for the album was John Bryan. As Mike Score reflects on the making of this album, he extends his gratitude to his wife Ceena Score, as well as his parents, Patricia and Peter Score. He also thanks Paradise Agency, Boss Agency, and all those involved in the production of this record. Some Dreams is set to be a groundbreaking album that will once again solidify A Flock of Seagulls' place in music history. With their unique blend of synth and guitar-driven sounds, paired with Mike Score's poignant lyrics, fans can expect to be taken on a musical journey that will stay with them long after the album's release.
