Its Bloody Knees & Bloody Fingers At Nai Harvest

It’s bloody knees and bloody fingers all round at Nai Harvest tonight as they play the first of their 2-night residency at the venue they played their London debut and Kingsland Road’s sweatiest venue – Power Lunches.

Tonight they are playing all the singles from (2013-2015) and tomorrow night playing debut album proper HAIRBALL in full. Both nights have been curated by Nai Harvest and tonight supports come from gritty garage rock band BIRDSKULLS (billed somewhere as BIRDPOO–LOL) who have just released their debut LP ‘Trickle ‘ through Dog Knight Productions and not so secret guests and also on Dog Knight scuzzy punks Bloody Knees.

I find myself down in the depths of the basement halfway through Bloody Knees ballistic set with a room full of swaying bodies and crowd surfers going nuts. I cant tell if this is a room of fans or the bands best mates, everyone knows each other and have a connection with the band that gets me moving instantly. This is young grungy scuzzy melodic pop at its best. One of the ones to watch.

Up next tonight’s headliners and my current faves on the live music scene Nai Harvest. I first caught these guys at Handmade Festival in April and I’ve been hooked ever since. I caught up with front man Ben before they took to the stage, his hand is covered in plasters - he’s missing a chunk from his finger he lost earlier in a car door – ouch!

Nai Harvest are singer/guitarist Ben and drummer Lew, a two-piece pop punk outfit from Sheffield. If I could put them in a can and drink them I would. You could sum them up perfectly to the drink they have on stage tonight, Dragonsoop – a mixed concoction of fizzy sun drenched caffeine highs and pure joyous sweetness that leaves you wanting more and by the end of the night sweating on the floor being sick on your heart and not giving a fuck about anything anymore.

To sum them up. I love them, listen to them, go see them and fall in love with your new favorite band – the end.
